I have practiced as a clinical psychologist for over 20 years. My PhD researched the therapeutic effectiveness of mindfulness-based therapies in psychiatric and oncology settings and resulted in a number of academic papers. I have lectured at several universities on health psychology, psychoanalysis and existential issues over many years. I completed analytical training with the CG Jung Institute of ANZSJA and am in private practice as a Jungian Analyst in Coffs Harbour.

Previous Funding, Research & Other Professional Activity:

  • Chief Investigator of Cancer Institute funded trials of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for cancer patients. 2006-2009.
  • Chief Investigator on an NHMRC funded trial of Mindfulness Based Cognitive therapy for men with advanced prostate cancer. This included the development of all clinical materials and the training and supervision of all clinicians.
  • Clinical supervisor on at least six other trials of acceptance based therapies, which involved the development of all clinical materials, the training of clinicians and the supervision of therapy provision.
    Academic supervision of PhD students
  • A long history of supervising psychologists and Psychology Board Approved Supervisor since 2007.
  • Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction trainer. I have facilitated and supervised hundreds of these courses and provided over a dozen 5 day residential intensives for health professionals wanting to teach.
